The Benefits of Replacement Doors

The Benefits of Replacement Doors

Your kitchen cabinet or wardrobe doors are one of the most important elements of your home interior. The state of these doors will either make or break your look, and define the interior standards of your home.

If you fancy refreshing your kitchen or bedroom furniture but don’t have the money or time to undertake a whole renovation, then simply replacing the doors could be the perfect solution.

Upcycling and refurbishing furniture is a trend that will never go out of fashion and there are plenty of reasons why it is so popular. We will guide you through some of the benefits of replacement doors and clarify why our door replacement service might be the best option for you.

More Economical

Probably the biggest benefit of using replacement doors is that it is a cheaper option. It makes sense that just replacing the doors of your furniture would cost a lot less than replacing the whole cabinetry. It involves a lot fewer materials and less time fitting so the cost is considerably lower.

If your budget is smaller but you still want a big impact transformation, replacing the doors is the most cost-effective way to do that.

Less Hassle and Time

As well as saving you money on materials and fitting costs, door replacement will also take a lot less time and cause you less hassle.

There is no need to remove kitchen appliances, cut back carpets or worry about plumbing and electrics. Your furniture layout will stay exactly how it was built, just with a new exterior.

You can choose a convenient time for us to deliver and fit your new doors, and the job can be completed in as little as 1-2 days depending on the size. That means less time living in a cluttered space and more time enjoying your new look!

Made-to-Measure

Our door replacement service offers a made-to-measure option so we can manufacture your doors to perfectly fit your existing furniture. No matter how awkward you think the size or shape of your cabinets is, we can create doors to fit any space.

Personalise Your Space

With interior design trends continuously changing, your style has probably adapted since you first chose your kitchen cabinets or wardrobes. Whether you’re feeling like your interior is a little old-fashioned or you’ve recently reinvented your style, your home should reflect your current preferences and character.

With so many door styles, colours, handles and finishes to choose from, you will never be short of choice. Whether you’re wanting a drastic new look or just some subtle changes, our collections cater for everyone. We can also offer a paint match service to match any existing colours or furniture you might have your eye on.

More Environmentally Friendly

In this day and age, we are all looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact, and upcycling furniture is a great way to make your home renovation greener.

By not throwing away your older cabinets and instead just renovating the doors, you are wasting fewer materials and using less materials in the production process too.

We use high-quality materials for our replacement doors meaning the product will last longer, and the longer it lasts the better for the environment it is.

The Best Bedroom Interior Trends This Year

The Best Bedroom Interior Trends This Year

Interior design trends change every year, and things regularly go in and out of fashion. Take for example dado rails which were found in most Victorian-built homes and are now making a comeback. As well as avocado bathroom suites that were everywhere in the 70s before losing popularity, to then become fashionable again in the 2020s! Here are some of the best interior trends we’ve seen so far in 2022…

Botanicals and Houseplants

Having plenty of plants, flowers, cacti and succulents growing in your home gives off a natural and healthy aura to your home, the colour of flora and fauna can create a great accessory colour to both light and dark decorated rooms.
If you don’t have much of a green thumb, then another trendy choice is to opt for botanical decor instead! Whether it’s wallpaper, prints, wall art or fake plants, it’ll give your home that pop of colour you’re after and give your home a natural feel.

“Cosy Feel”

You heard it right, ironing your bedsheets and making your bed look uniform is out, and creating a lived-in and cosy look is in! Make your bedroom look like it is regularly slept in and is a cosy place to relax, unwind and hang out.
Opt for natural fabrics like cotton bedding and a neutral colour palette like whites and light greys to make your bedroom look soft and comfortable.
Contrasting colours such as a light wood effect with dark-painted furniture really makes a room pop, and that’s why it’s one of the biggest interior colour trends this year!

Artwork

Gallery walls and hanging art prints are becoming ever-popular, whether it’s family photos or a cool design you found on Etsy or at a local art shop. It is a great idea to decorate your home with pictures and artwork that pops or blends with your interior design. You’ll be able to find all sorts of prints based on your taste and likes, from culinary prints to geographical art.

Not a fan of art? Wall decor is a great choice too!

Planning Your Wardrobe Interiors

Planning Your Wardrobe Interiors

Have you started your design for your fitted wardrobe or you’re just thinking about what you’d use it for? The good news is that we’ve put together this little guide to help you plan the interior of your fitted wardrobe!

Here are some things you should consider:

Shelf Space

It’s important to know how many shelves you might need in your fitted wardrobe, if any. Shelves are a great way to reduce clutter, especially if you usually hang large quantities of clothes. Having shelves in your fitted wardrobes mean you can fold up trousers, towels and other accessories without clogging up your rails with too many hangers.
We can also create slanted shelves designed to store shoes, meaning you will no longer have to rummage around the bottom of your wardrobe!

Lighting

Picture this: it’s 5 am, you’ve got an early start and the sun hasn’t come up yet. Everyone’s still in bed, but you need to get up and get dressed. Most of the time, you’d have to navigate your room with your phone torch to get ready for work, but the benefit of having LED lights or downlights in your wardrobe is that you can get ready in your wardrobe space, without worrying about waking anyone up, especially if you share a room with someone. Wardrobes are usually dark spaces so it means you can find clothes easily without having to search around too much.

Rails

We don’t just stock straight rails here at Made Bedrooms & Interiors. If you want a different look to your wardrobe, we have curved rails so you can make more use of the space. We can also put double rails in one compartment of your wardrobe (depending on the height of your walls) so that you have two levels of clothing. It’s also useful if you’re sharing your wardrobe with someone else, meaning there are plenty of rails for both of you!

Various Storage Solutions

Rails and shelving aren’t the only ways to style your wardrobe. If you’d prefer to hang jeans and trousers instead of folding them, you can opt for a trouser rack to be installed. We also have accessory drawers that are sectioned out, so you can neatly store belts, socks, watches and more.

We hope we’ve given you some ideas to think about for your fitted wardrobe interior! If you have any queries or need more help, don’t hesitate to get in touch!

You might be working from your spare bedroom, on a second-hand desk or on a desk you scrambled to purchase from that big Swedish furniture store in March 2020, when you were told to stay home from work. Storage Ideas for Small Spaces

Whether you live in a smaller space or need to come up with some smarter solutions for storage, we’ve got some great smart storage ideas on how to use as little space as possible and still have a stylish living space. Tiny homes and smart living is on the rise, so here are the best ways you can make the most of the space you have to work with:

Fitted Wardrobes:

For all of your clothes, shoes, accessories and more, a fitted wardrobe is the best way to go. If you have a bare wall you don’t know what to do with, or an alcove in your room that could fit a fitted wardrobe, then this option could be the best one for you. Having a wardrobe fitted into this space means that you can choose the layout, what goes where, and you’ll be able to call the shots on how many drawers and shoe racks you’ll need, as well as railing. Any extra space at the top or bottom of the wardrobe could also allow you to store any storage boxes you may have.

Fitted wardrobes are very amenable in the design stage and even the door you choose will have a brilliant effect on your room. If you don’t have a lot of space for a full-size mirror, choosing a mirrored door will mean you don’t need to put an additional one in the room, plus mirrored furniture can make you room much bigger and can improve natural light.  Choosing shaker doors for your fitted wardrobe can provide a natural and stylish look to your room and will make for an attractive bonus if you decide to sell or move out of your home.

Multi-purpose Bed:

Having a multi-purpose bed is an excellent smart storage solution! Under-bed storage boxes or a liftable mattress can make all the difference between having storage boxes everywhere and keeping them all in one space. You can make your under-bed storage even neater by using vacuum bags and/or boxes. It’s an excellent idea to keep your clean towels and fresh bedding in your under-bed storage space if you don’t have an airing cupboard or ample storage cupboards in your home.

Floating Shelves:

A big, bulky bookcase or shelf can take up a huge amount of space in your room and, if you ever want to redecorate, they can also be a pain to repaint or move around. Floating shelves can be screwed into your walls and can be positioned as close together or as far apart as you need them to be. They are also excellent as a multi-purpose smart storage feature. Need to use them as a bookshelf? The great thing is that floating shelves can fit stacks of books, and can also be used to hold miscellaneous decorations that you have for your room. And, as you can’t usually see the fixings, they look seamless and stylish against any wall.

If you’re looking to smarten up your living space or need to make use of some smart storage solutions, try our suggestions and see if any of them work for you!
