Over the past couple of years, we’ve been going to the cinema less and watching new films from home through streaming services. So, if you’re spending more time at home watching movies, why not create that cinema feeling at home?
This blog will give you some handy tips on how to set up a cinema room, how to make it comfy and what we can do to help!

Comfort

L-shaped sofas are always a popular option for cinema rooms as it gives plenty of space for friends and family to get comfortable in front of the ‘big screen’. By adding cushions and blankets, you can turn an ordinary sofa into the ultimate comfort spot!
You don’t just have to limit yourself to films and TV shows in your home cinema, either. With the use of a media cabinet, you can have any consoles or entertainment systems in your cinema too to make it a fun spot for all ages.

Lighting

The darkness of the cinema really adds to the atmosphere and gets us absorbed in the action, or the horror if that’s your thing! If you prefer soft lighting, we suggest placing a lamp or two in the corner of the room where you won’t get any glare off the TV screen. If you have windows in your chosen cinema room, investing in black-out blinds or heavy curtains will remove any daylight from the room.

The Big Screen

If you don’t have a television yet for your cinema room, you could consider getting a projector! Modern projectors can be easily connected to phones, tablets or laptops through a USB port or Bluetooth. Projectors can also be a more cost-efficient choice than buying a bigger television.
Projectors can be played against an empty wall, or you can buy a drop-down screen if your walls are already decorated. Drop-down screens are also useful for creating more floor space for reading, playing and storage compared to having a TV stand.

Tidy Spaces

If you’ve seen images of home cinemas before, you’ll notice that there usually isn’t a cable or wire in sight.
Keeping cables tucked away creates a sleek and tidy-looking home cinema, and this can be achieved by using cable tidies or hiding them using a bespoke media unit. This is something we can help with!
Our media units can safely hide any wires or cables connected to your TV and entertainment units, as well as keep the latter neatly stored away.

Sound

Surround sound is used in most cinemas, and it’s an experience you don’t want to miss out on in your own cinema! Surround sound systems can be found on almost any budget and can really improve your home cinema enjoyment. It’s best to find sleek, modern-looking speakers that don’t distract too much from the main screen. We also recommend playing around with the speaker settings to make sure it’s at a comfortable volume and setting for you, your friends and your family.
